In the Summer, Peterborough has its annual Festival of Lights concert series, with music, laser lights and fireworks. This Festival runs from June through August and is always well attended.
 Many top-name acts are brought in with a diversity to satisfy all tastes. Every Wednesday and Saturday evenings a performance is held, finished off with a fireworks display. Best of all - it's absolutely free!
 Come winter, one of the biggest attractions is the Peterborough Petes' junior hockey team, which has a storied tradition and a long roll call of players who became NHL stars.
